Welcome to IBIS

The Integrated Bus Information System (IBIS) is an internet information resource to help transit agencies evaluate the impact of fuel and propulsion technology choices on criteria emissions, greenhouse gas emissions, fuel efficiency and vehicle life cycle costs. IBIS is intended primarily as tool for use in transit bus procurement activities. IBIS provides three interactive tools:

Transit Bus Emissions Database
a searchable database of chassis dynamometer test results for a wide variety of transit buses. This database includes measured oxides of nitrogen (NOx), hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), particulate matter (PM), carbon dioxide (CO2), fuel efficiency (mpg) and other detailed information.
Transit Fleet Emissions Model
a predictive fleet emissions inventory model that can be used to estimate the emissions footprint of an existing transit fleet or to evaluate the impact new transit buses with different fuel and propulsion system technologies on the emissions footprint of the fleet.

Development of the Integrated Bus Information System was funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation — Federal Transit Administration.
